Edwin Marcial
Thirteen Castles Digital is lead by CEO and founder, Edwin Marcial. Edwin is the former founding Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Senior Vice President of Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). For eighteen years, he spearheaded the innovation of ICE technology, transforming it from a six-person startup to a $25 billion company by the time he left in 2014. During his tenure, Marcial built and led a team of over 500 engineers and technologists responsible for designing and developing the technology that powers ICE markets, exchanges, data, and clearing platforms.
During his tenure, Edwin’s leadership was instrumental in several key achievements: the record-setting ICE IPO in 2005, the development of the industry’s highest-performing trading platform, and the landmark acquisition of the New York Stock Exchange in 2013. As the architect of ICE’s original trading platform, Edwin guided its evolution into the world’s fastest commodities trading system.
